And one ethical issue for a manager when a nurse intentionally did not charge some supplies to a patient because the patient was poor?

Explanation / Answer

ACHE Code of Ethics is a standard set for healthcare professionals and their behavior in the organizations. These code of ethics dictates that the professionals will maintain honesty and integrity along with the confidentiality of data. The conceptual framework of the code ensures professional behaviour with due care of patients. The patients have the right that their health conditions, their personal data, patients dignity, diseases, family background or any other personal information should not be disclosed. The manager along with the staff members will be in trouble as it can lead to defamation. The staff members can be penalized for discussing patients' condition in the cafeteria.

In the second case, the nurse intentionally not charging to the patient because of his/her poor condition can put the nurse into trouble as these decisions can be taken by the management, not by the nurses. The nurses can only recommend formally as it is not a fair game to all the patients as everyone needs to be treated equally. The manager can take some harsh decision against the nurse lawfully.
