Question

This is a note of my reflection on these pictures/artwork. Please help me edit my writing to answer the following questions:

1) Why do I like about this art ?
what is interesting about this art and why?
or in other words
What makes this art interesting?(amazing part)

2)  write opinion about the photos.

My note: " I really like the artwork that are made by Brittany Smart, B.A. College of Informatics Assistant to the dean. As she stated that in her childhood she read a poem about two sisters, named Athena and Persephone. Zeus’s was her father. Both sisters are also God’s and they have different responsibilities. Athena was the goddess of wisdom and war and second sister, Persephone who reigns over spring and underworld.

I love the way that Brittany Smart make these pictures and try to explain them. Both sisters were very beautiful, and she sketch their beauty very carefully. Brittany Smart make an idea in her mind that how both sisters look today and draw them . When someone see these pictures then it can’t be imagine that these girls are not real, and they are imaginary. Both pictures look real it seems like you see these girls in front of you. If someone forget that these are pictures then he/she thinks that he/she sees real girls. Brittany Smart also describes their responsibilities in these pictures very carefully.

For this purpose, Brittany Smart chooses one arrow with blood as a symbol to represent the war and draw butterflies in Athena’s hairs which shows that this girl was also a wise one (picture at left side). When we see this picture for a long time then we observed that this girl is not a polite one, we can observe some strictness in her face easily. On the other and, when we see the picture of second sister Persephone (picture at right side), then first thing which we observed is the black color. This black color represents the underworld over which she ruled. When we see her face then we easily observed that this lady was very cruel and strict. These expressions of face are very big achievement by Brittany Smart. Everyone can’t bring such expressions on face in picture.. In this picture, white flowers represent the spring.

Both pictures are very realistic, and each picture represents the real story of each sister. If someone know about the story of these sisters then he can easily have identified them by seeing these pictures."

Explanation / Answer

The art represents the duality of each personality. While they claim to depict the pictures of Athena and Persephone, They also make you wonder about the two sides of human nature. We all have the ability to act good and bad, we all have the capability to construct or destroy. The same is depicted in these pictures.

The painter’s placement of the photos side by side shows that very clearly. While Athena and Persephone are known for their distinctive nature of light and darkness, mythology does not necessarily depict them as good or bad. It all depends on the perspective of the reader or in this case, the observer of the art.

The amazing part is that, in spite of different colors and makes provided to the models who are in these pictures, they look extremely similar. Well it is possible that they both are the same person or they are different. That does not deter us from questioning if the light and darkness is within the same person or not. Or is it just a different face or a different perspective.

Brittany Smart not only explained her intention in the script between these photos but she has also left plenty of room for various interpretation after that.
