Performance appraisal is a tool that is used to review the performance levels of the employees and on the basis of their performance giving them appraisal. There are various ways to review the performance of the employees and then rewarding them on the basis of such review done. One of the tool so used is the 360 degree appraisal.
360 degree appraisal:
It refers to the system where the employees performance is reviewed not only by the immediate superior, but by everyone surrounding him within the organization. It means that reviews about his performance will be taken from the superiors, colleagues, subordinates or even the customers for that matter.
Like the name suggests, 360 degree, the information about how well the employee is performing is collected from all the possible sources surrounding the employee and not just from the superiors.
