In chickens, the white plumage (P) of the leghorn breed is dominant over colored plumage (p), feathered shanks (S) are dominant over clean shanks (s), and pea comb (C) is dominant over single comb (c). Each of these gene pairs segregates independently. If a homozygous white, feathered, pea combed chicken is crossed with a homozygous colored, clean, single combed chicken and the F1s are mated with colored, clean, single-combed birds, what proportion of the birds in the F2 will produce only white, clean, pea-combed progeny? Justify your answer by showing intermediate diagrams/calculations.
In humans, red-green color blindness (b) is recessive and X-linked, whereas albinism is recessive (a) and autosomal. What proportion of their children will color-blind with albinism when two homozygous parents (a normal-visioned albino woman and a color-blind, normally pigmented man)? Give your answer separately for males and females, if needed. Draw a diagram and show your calculations to justify your answer.
