Traditionally in America, the policing was developed roughly similar to as those of the London police. Most of the US cities had their municipal police departments with a paramilitary structure. In twentieth century, the system has shown reform and professionalism. At present, the concept of ‘community policing’ is used across the nation. Policing has adopted completely different set of strategies, tactics, and policies. It is more neighborhood-centric and community-oriented policing. Hence, it can be said that policing and the crime fighting methods are completely modified today.

Obviously with the additions of all new Forensic tools, it has become easier to understand the crime scene and to catch even the little details for the culprit. Every culprit leaves a clue behind and forensic science helps to identify those clues and to make a meaningful analysis out of it so that department remains behind the culprit and can catch with adequate and reliable proofs
