Explain how an understanding of moral intensity, ethical sensitivity, and situational influence can support ethical behavior individually and among people in an organization (McShane & Von Glinow, 2013), and explain a scenario that depicts one or more of these components.

Moral intensity refers to the degree up to which ethical principles are required to solve an issue. Ethical sensitivity refers to the ability to identify the ethical issues and determine its relative importance. Situational influences refer to the competitive pressure and other conditions that affect the ethical behavior of a person.

These terms would act as the moral principles guiding the behavior of individuals working in an organization. It helps them to differentiate between the right and wrong business practices. However, within an organization different people might have different set of ethical behavior. Ethics of each person would vary as per their cultural background, values, demographics and education level. Therefore, ethically correct behavior of an employee might be incorrect as per the perception of other person. It might lead to misunderstanding and conflicts within an organization. Therefore, managers need to make a standard set of ethical behavior for the employees keeping the ethical diversity into their mind.
