Generally, speaking “on behalf of the company” means that a person acts as a representative on behalf of the company and elaborates about the company views, perspectives and ideas. They communicate with the internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the company.

Contrary to this, speaking about the company means that people share their own views and feedback about the company, its products or services. Hence, both the terms are entirely different.
