Select the method of training you feel would be the most effective for a waitstaff team in a full-service restaurant. Justify your selection by outlining why this method would be the best way for the waitstaff team to learn the different nuances of their positions.
Once you have found the people you think best fit your organizational culture and values, you are then charged to keep them engaged and committed to their work. Outline how you might recognize when an employee might be in need of a change to a different team and offer two ways to make that change.
Explanation / Answer
First and the formost training I would suggest is to have a detailed understanding of the dish.
Customers usually asks the questions on the menu and the details on the cousine they want to order. Chefs put a lot of efforts in desinging and making food. but if not properly presented to the customer, then he / she may never order that dish.
So the first training is on the menu.
Second is to be friendly and helpful with the customers because you should always be ready to help customer with his query and serve food.
Serving manners and atiquets to serve food the right way and maintaining the standards of the restaurant.
These are some of the trainings I would suggest.
Each employee need to be analysed, one on one meetings can be set up to ask for their job satisfaction, whether the employee possesses the above mentioned knowledge. Besides below mentioned qualities are important to work in this department :-
1. excellent customer service skills
2.an interest in food and drink
3.high standards of personal hygiene
4. the ability to remain calm under pressure
5. an awareness of health and safety issues
6. the ability to memorise orders
7. good numeracy skills for dealing with bills and payments
8. the ability to work on your own and as part of a team
After analysing all these criterias, we can decide on the way path for the employee.
