There are 3 different types of layouts used in the facility set up.
1) Product layout--This is a type of layout in which all the machines and service equipments which are used in the processing of the new product are arranged in the same sequence.
2)Process layout--This type of product is used when there are low volumes of production required.
3)Fixed Position layout--This is also one of the common types of the facility layout as in this layout , the major equipment or the machinery is at a fixed position and the other parts or the machinery or the spare parts are brought near the major machine
