Explanation / Answer
CONCEPT: Brining in new leadership when the time is right
ARTICLE SUMMARY:
The article is about the planning for a new leadership due to different reasons. Its mentioned that start up and family companies often have a problem delegating the responsibility to a new leader because it is something the current owner/leader created from nothing but due to the lack of skills it is best to bring someone new to the organization
ARTICLE ANALYSIS:
I don’t think CEOs spend time thinking what would be happen when their time is up or if a tragedy affects their life and someone else needs to take over and this is something very important especially on big companies.
CEOs and HR managers need to stay alert to the signs that the organization might need a different leader for any reason not just because the current leader is doing something wrong.
The exit strategy is vital if you want to make sure the business continues as usual or better.
OPINION:
It’s my opinion that each leader of any type of industries should read the article and start planning what would happened if they needed to remove himself from the company, what would be the consequences of this action if it wasn’t planned and what would happened to the company
