You own a website design firm and an employee asks you for a favor: a one-month salary advance. She is one of your best employees, you have worked with her for over 5 years, and you know she is buying a house. You cannot, however, advance her the money because it is against company policy, you don’t want to set a precedent and you don’t believe it is your responsibility.

This is to inform you that the company cannot pay you any advance salary because it is against company policy.

We know that you are one of our best employees; we trust you and your work. Your tenure with the company is much appreciated. Good to hear that you are buying a house.

We cannot help you as it is against the policy.

Hope you understand as you are attached to the company for 5years.

We deeply regret for the inconvenience.
