Leadership is the way one motivates others to geer towards the same goal as the company sees fit. A good leader is one that can sit back and not come in one day and know that there staff will run the business properly. Leadership is being able to train people well enough to want to leave but treat them well enough to want to stay. There are many different teachings on what a good leader is but the main goal is how to make people respect you but more importantly make people want to work for you. There is no single definition of leadership, what works for one may not work for another. Some feel that the best leader is a dictator and some feel they need to treat their staff like friends but the end result is which ever works for that company is how the leader should act. (Nicole Fallon Taylor 2016). A good leader must know how far to push their staff without pushing them too far so that the staff member leaves and never comes back. A good leader trains their employees to be future leaders so when the leader steps down, the prodogay steps in. Many leaders may often be considered a manager but a manager must plan, staffing and controlling as well as leading. A manager must delegate responsibilities to their employees and be able to step back when the employee is capable of doing the job. To be a good manager does not mean the person is a good leader, a good leader earns the respect of their employees instead of just demanding respect like many managers do.
2) Give examples of “great leaders” what made them so great.
An example of a great leader would be Bill Clinton, many turned on him because of his personal relations but he still went out with a huge likeability factor. He made the country great, and he left us in a great economic state before going out of office. He is a perfect example of not doing the best things on his own time, but people loved him for all he did for the country and how aggressive he was with making America great. Another great leader was Martin Luther King, he was a leader among all men and women. He refused to back down, and led thousands up and down the streets, knocked on doors, led protests and had thousands around the world following every word and action he stated. Bono is an example of a wonderful leader, he has millions of fans around the world and uses his power and social status to influence people. He took a stand against the ban in North Carolina of transgender bathrooms. He refused to play in cities that refused to recognize people’s rights. If a person is transgender they have the right to go into the bathroom of their choice. Bono risked becoming hated by many, but he stuck to his principles as a great leader should and he ended up a hero to the transgender community and to many of his fans.
3) Can a person be trained to be a leader?
Yes a person can absolutely be trained to be a leader. If a boss puts the resources into a person to train them to be a leader the risk most often is worth the reward. If a boss trusts their employee enough to invest in them, the employee does not want to leave. The better employees are trained and treated the less chance you run of them leaving. If an employee feels that they are being invested in they will always want to go above and beyond for their employers. They will want to work overtime, the more an employee entices an employee the bigger the chance that employee will become a successful leader.
