After completing the reading assignments, write a 3-page
(minimum 750 words) response to the following task. Do not use the question in your
response. Conduct your own workplace survey using Exhibit 4.2 as your guide.
Interview at least two supervisory level persons in your organization about the types of
recognition given in the organization and the frequency with which they are given. Then
interview or survey at least four employees about the types and frequencies of
recognition in the workplace. Use the mean scores (average) to determine your results,
report the results and analyze the perceptual gap between the supervisors and
subordinates.

Explanation / Answer

The two supervisiory level persons who i am interested to interview are Security supervisior and Housekeeping supervisior these 2 gentleman shall be interviewed and briefed about the type of recognition given in the organization and the frequency at which they are given. Their are 2 type of recognition given in the Organization Outstanding employee of the Year and Chairman Silver Medal for all the outstanding performance done by the employe. The frequency for these awards are yearly and half yearly. The 4 employees will be interviewed based on their overall score which will be judged on the 10 parameters those are required they are competency level,Confidence,Humour,Zeal to work,relation with the employees/colleagues,level of expertise in the job,understanding of the job,dedication level,Team spirit,coordination all the stated parameters scoring will be done on the scale of 5 and the scoring would be given and than average would be taken out whosoever gets the highest average he/she will be chosen for the recognition and recommended to the Managmenet. Generally these type of activities are done in every corporate to boost the morale of the employees. When we have completed in takingout the average scores we would choose the highest scorer and propose his name for the recognition. The gap between the supervisors and subordinates is much as the coordination is less between them.
