First deliverable: The healthcare facility that i have selected is St. Rita's Medical Center in Ohio. St. Rita's do have an information system.
Description and analysis of the selected healthcare facility: St. Rita's Medical Center provides comprehensive healthcare services. The medical center is located at West Central Ohio. Type of setting - St. Rita's Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare service provider. The services provided are in the field of heart, emergency, women's services, cancer, home care, radiology, surgical services, lab, sleep disorders, and robotic surgery. Thus it is a general medical and surgical hospital.
In terms of size of the facility, the hospital has 415 beds. The hospital is owned and operated by 'Sisters of Mercy' trust. In terms of population served, for the year 2015, 64,147 patients visited the hospital's emergency room, the number of admissions were 19,647 patients. The number of surgeries performed were 4,191 for inpatient surgeries and 6,425 for outpatient surgeries. St. Rita’s Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the American Association of Blood Banks and the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists.

The information system is also used by the management and administrative department for the purpose of planning, policy making, decision making and implementation and this is known as secondary use of health information. Information is also used by the payer and the insurer to cover the health costs on the basis of available information.
This facility has electronic records only. Patients can access the records by filling an on-line form at St. Rita's website and supporting it with the reason as to why the record is required. An identity proof also has to be provided along with the request. Hospital personnel providing health care services can access the data by logging in and using the credentials or password allotted to them to view a particular case or file.
