I have not functioned as a process consultant but I have been a part of it many times because of the job I do. As an administrative assistant where I work, I have been contacted by the people in administration to help them with purchasing office machines and other equipment that are need in my department and other department as well. I have to answer questions on the needs of the employees with regards to how often they use them and how many people use them. They also want to know how they might cut cost by asking if the companies that we were using to service the machines were doing a good job or if they needed to change them. We ended up buying two new high speed printers that scans and prints large volumes of documents and one fax machine and also changed the people who serviced the high speed printers. I think the consulting was successful because the complaints about malfunction of machines have stopped and other departments have also benefited in the sense that they liked our new machines and recommended that they use the same ones.
