Explanation / Answer
The satisfaction level of patients is used as an index or a metric to measure the quality of services being provided by the health care system. It has a direct impact on clinical outcomes. Patient is the customer and the satisfaction of the patient strengthens the health care system. A health care service provider is able to earn consistent profits because of high level of patient satisfaction. As more and more patients are retained due to higher satisfaction levels, the operational strength of the health care system will also increase.
Employee and physician satisfaction - When the employees and the physicians are satisfied then their morale are high. This will impact the health care system in two ways: firstly the staff turnover will reduce. This will beneficial for the health care system as low turnover rate will enable it to provide a consistent level of services. Secondly, when the employees and the physicians are satisfied, their productivity will be higher. This will increase the efficiency of the health care system.
Analyzing: While completing this activity, i learned that for a health care system it is important that the interests and objectives of different stakeholders are satisfied.
Reflecting: This theory is important as it will help health care service providers to become more efficient and improve its operations.
Relating: As a person, it is important that you keep in mind the interests of different people who are associated with you. This will help you in creating a symbiotic relationship with them. This will eventually benefit you.
Questioning: This activity has raised the question regarding the relative importance of the different stakeholders. Is the satisfaction of the patient more important or is the satisfaction of employees and physicians more important for the health care system?
