The partnership of A Bank and Techsource in a receipt imaging system was not as successful as they had thought of. The mission statement of the bank was to give innovative and best financial services at reasonable cost to the customers. The project was not delivered on time and was not even within budget when it was aligned with the receipt imaging project. It was revealed in the study undertaken by Group 5 that there were a lot of issues highlighted through the stage of planning, stakeholders, team, cost, scope, time management and risks. There were miscommunication and faculty planning issues with the planning of the project. Almost 80 percent of the used receipts by A Bank was not left out including the ones requested by Techsource. A lack of commitment and false perception relating to the project scope was revealed and there was no proper developed strategic plan. The stakeholders were also least represented and there was misunderstanding pertaining to the utilises of the receipts of A Bank. There was no monitoring and measuring of the progress of the group and the failure led to the problem in management. There were issues related to the planning phase and lack of accurate project direction. There was also issues pertaining to communication accuracy. There were also problems related to the external stakeholder of the project, Techsource. The data was requested regarding the formatting of receipt and vendor software. There were only 18 command formats received by Techsource because of the lack of commitment of Smith and the top management. There was a problem in determining the wide scope and the stakeholders were affected. There was no determination of all the command formats. There was a blaming conducted by Techsource and Smith without handling the issues at hand. Matt Bond further took over the charge as Smith left the company in frustration looking at how long the implementation seemed to take. The implementation process speeds up with the efforts of Matt Bond. However the project failed overall due to the lack of identification of stakeholders and they were left from the planning and development stage.
