Do you believe this is true? Is there still room for someone with a purely domestic perspective? Is international business education enough, or is actual field experience required? How might you prepare yourself for this new global business environment?

Working on international assignment in corporates are now a days in demand. Specially youngster who have recently started working with corporates are keen to take up assignements which has extended geographical boundries. Major reasons to accept international assignments are:

(1) Nature of work : After spending significant time working on various domestic assignments, senior managers may look for some challenging opportunities to work for. It may increase theit work place satisfaction in large context.

(2) Career boost : Typically senior managers look for onsite/ international assignment as a major boost to their corporate career. After successful attempt of international exposure, individual is seen as an asset to the firm and considered as deserving candidate for job-promotion.

(3) Increase client trust: When corporates are having set of people having cross border experience, clients feel more safe and happy with corporates. In a global world, corporates might have clients from different countries deal with different cultural and social values. They look for same mind set when it comes to select business partners. Corporate having same mind set and globally exposed managers are definately gainers and increase client base globally.

Moreover, person with domestic perspective is less competitive in global business environment. For entry level employees ,when domestic experience is desirable, senior managers are asked to develop ability to deal with more challenging global work culture. Hence if individual is looking for significant growth in career, he/she must take up international exposure.

There are many training institutes teach various internation business courses to corporate people and students. These courses provide basic framework to deal with global scenario. But as said," Experience is best teacher", one can find significant gap between theories and practical - field/ hands on work related experience. International business theories give an idea about nation's culture, social and economical norms, but individual has to feel these intangible parameters to deal with nation' business community.

Hence one has to develope ability to with multinational corporates and carry the boundry less mind set to work with international clients.
