According to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the purpose of Uniform Guidelines is to prevent or reduce discrimination in employment and to ensure every person has an equal opportunity when it comes to test, selection procedures or any other employment decision. In any organization that is competitive, strategic staffing is an important aspect of human resource that involve performance appraisal, employment testing, recruitment and retention, all with an aim of ensuring only the right employees with the necessary skills are hired (Windham, 2015).

It is up to the employer to set the test or procedure for selection, the Uniform guidelines is there to ensure that there is no discrimination based on sex, religion, color, national origin or race.
