Question

Thanks for your post and I will take it up from where you stated that it is fact that companies are guilty of over-marketing because consumers in the present scenario hear the same irrelevant messages repeatedly. My take is that the same irrelevant messages that are repeatedly work well for some companies. Firstly let define advertising campaign as a group of ads centralized around one message and they use many marketing channels to get this idea across which is the case with your statement (Krutch, 2015). Some great examples include the following: Nike's JUST DO IT slogan - Nick started as shoes exclusively for marathon runners but when the fitness craze emerged, they had to take advantage before their main competitor retook could come up with another advertising campaign. 'Just do it' campaign was short and sweet but produced everything that everything people felt when exercising such as if you don't want to run 10 kilometers, you remember Just Do it' slogan, it is a slogan that all can relate to Nile increased their sales from S800 million in 1980 to over $9.2 billion in 1998. What is important though when deciding the best way to present the brand is to ask yourself what problems you are solving for the customers (Krutch. 2015) This is the only way to connect with consumers on an emotional level that is not possible to ignore Others include Apple - Get the Mac. Volkswagen - Think small and the De Beers - A Diamond is forever. All of the above have been short and sweet and for years and repeatedly as you have put it. What would your think are the best marketing campaigns of all time?

Explanation / Answer

Best marketing campaigns are those campaigns that get emotionally associated with the target audience and change their thought process in favor of the product and services on offer. People start linking themselves with these products and a brand is developed. Some of the best ever marketing campaigns are already mentioned and I would like to add few more to the list.
One such campaign is related to the Dove and the slogan is “Real Beauty”. It was launched in the year 2004 and Today, Dove is one of the most popular and respected brand across the globe. I have selected this campaign because it touches a very sensitive topic that is beauty and it is perceived differently by different people. But, Dove communicated very effectively and created a place among the best ever choice made by women.
Another campaign, I have selected is related to Old Spice and the slogan is “Smell like a Man, Man”. It became an instant hit and popularized the offerings to a new level, even on online social media.
