Explanation / Answer
1. In my workplace I have to work as a part of a team and there is constant interaction with subordinates and managers regarding the tasks at hand. Thus the personalities of the workers, colleagues, managers, and subordinates have a direct impact on my performance and my experience of the workplace.
Personality of my co-workers affects the quality of relationships that I have in the workplace and the quality of relationships have an effect on the quality of work outcomes and hence on my performance and my experience of the workplace. When the personality of the co-workers and other employees is such that it creates a climate of high performance then my individual performance also increases. For instance if the senior managers are emphatic towards the employees or if the co-workers are adaptive and gel well in the team then a positive as well as a productive environment is created in the workplace. If there is a personality match between the employees then the motivational level will increase as the personality characteristics of employees will complement each other.
On the other hand if the employees, co-workers and senior managers have personalities that are so different that a negative alignment is created then the climate will not be conducive for increasing performance levels. For example of many employees have negative attitude then it will not lead to emotional integration and the workplace climate will be negatively affected. This will negatively affect my performance as well.
