Thermometer 1 shows water ice bath temperature to be 0.1oC.

Therefore, Corrected temperature of cold water = (22.5 -0.1)oC = 22.4oC

Thermometer 2 shows water boiling temoerature to be 96oC i.e. 4oC lower

Therefore, corrected temperature of Hot water = (47.5 + 4)oC= 51.4oC

Final temperature of water = (39.2 - 0.1)oC = 39.1oC

1. Measured temperature = 52.1 oC

Using ice-point method,

deviation shown = -0.7oC

Therefore, corrected tempertaure = (52.1 +0.7)oC = 52.8oC

Using boiling point method,

deviation shown = (100-98.8)oC = 1.2oC

Therefore, corrected temperature = (52.1+1.2)oC = 53.3oC
