You will require:

Note that we can't directly involve density with concentration, since most wines will age, and will convert alcohol to aldehydes, which both have lower density than water.

So if we relate "low density" to alcohols, we are running the risk of accepting acetone (the oxidized state of ethanol) as a premium product (i.e. the ethanol, or alcohol content in the wine)

The acetone will taste acidic and will not favor a nice "flavor" and "aroma" in the bottle.

We could also use colorimetric techniques, in which we relate specific color of wine for "dilution". Note that this dilution is both valid: for ethanol and water.

Then, relying mainly in density is not a 100% error proof technique.

Also, note that in real life, we assume there is mainly ethanol, so using a density equipment (called hydrometer) will be the typical / fast technique used.

For specific values, analytical chemistry is used, such as titration, gravimetric and other techniques which will give a more reliable numeric value
