a) coulombic attraction forces hold ionic compounds.

b) generally particles with same charge repelled by each other. There is strong coulombic attractions between opposite charges.

c) Lattice energy is directly proportional to charge on ions and inversely proportional to size of ions. So compounds containing smaller ions with greater charge will have greater lattice energy. LiF has smaller ions than CsI so LiF has greater lattice energy than CsI.

d) MgO has ions with +2 and -2 charges where as LiF has ions with +1 and -1 charges. So MgO has greater lattice energy than LiF.
