Explanation / Answer

1. Individuals do not evolve because genetics of the individuals does not undergo a rapid change. But population genetics change rapidly as the individuals compete for survival and successful reproduction. Organisms that acquire best genetics from their parents tend to pass them to their offsprings. So, the overall population get evolved, however in the absence of evolution in the individual level.

2. Plasmids are easy to manipulate because of their simple structure and small size. They are very good vectors for molecular biology experiments. Bacteria are easy to grow in laboratory. We can easily regulate their growth, and select the specific one as per our need. These characters make them good for cloning projects.

3. Genetically modified plants are designed in such a way to acquire pest resistance, and resistance to chemical treatments. If superweeds acquire the same genetic traits from GM plants, then it would become difficult to control superweeds population by any possible means. So, they grow in an uncontrolled manner like exotic species and possess threat to the local plant population.
