Table A referenced in question one says:

Violet - 404.7 nm

Indigo - 435.8 nm

Green - 546.1 nm

Yellow - 579.0 nm

1. Use the image of the mercury spectrum shown below to make a calibration line for the actual wavelength versus Dobs. The actual wavelengths of the mercury spectrum are listed in Table A. Use EXCEL to make the plot and obtain the equation of the calibration line. Present the equation for the calibration line here.

Explanation / Answer

Wavelengh for hydrogen atom is 653 nm as per calibrated from the line.Which lies in the visible region.

Note : The table and the calculation is very long and lengthy so i am not including here.
