Question

Chem lab report question DATA TABLE 5.9 in Mixtures from Absorbance and Percent Error from Known Concentration Calculated Known Percent Concentration (M) Concentration (M) Mixture Dye Error (Calculated by dilutions of Calculated from Beer's Law) diluted stock solution) Red O. 3 ST Red-Yellow Yellow l. LO RS1323. Red 1. 3 3 Red-Blue Blue I, 6 Yellow I. Yellow Blue Blue G to 303 Red 247 All Three Yellow a, 3 y LOT 2 SI Blue 7 y Same as Table 5.4 Use data from Table 5-5 and calculate using Beer's Law

Explanation / Answer

Ans ;- The table can be written as follows:-

Accuracy level of red and yellow dye = 0.0397-0.0422

                                                     = 0.035

% accuracy level = 3.5 %

From the given data if we calculate the accuracy we get a accuracy level of 3.5% . So we can conclude that the concentration of red and yellow dye in a mixture can be determined with reasonable accuracy of 3.5% of actual value by spectrophotometry.
