Three areas for assessment which may indicate the non adherence of patients to their medication regimen are:
1.Lack of understanding of disease and importance of medication adherence for improvement.
2. Lack in involvement in treatment regimen decision process
3. Lack of optimal medical literacy
The appropriate outcome in this situation will be realistic as the non adherent patient's regimen can be modified so that realistic results can be obtained.
