I am doing a project for school like introduction to an alcohol/phenol/thiol. I got Farnesol. I need a good, interstinrg way to present the information to the class. For example some one is doing a jeoprady game. I wrote a page of information on Farnesol. But what are some good ways to do this. W/O just doing a google slides or something. Thanks! Hi,
This is quite simple and an innovative way to approach the understanding of Farsenol.
You can bring in couple of jars of water, one having rose petals, the other having lemon grass. Inform the class, this is a perfume that you are carrying and both are floral ones. Try to spray it in the class, over your batchmates. Do they smell something? No? nBut it is having flowers and water, what else do we need?
Now, bring in a bottle of perfume, spray it in the class. Are they able to sense it now? Yes?
Well the only difference is the perfume has, Farsenol, which enhance the volatility of the odour in perfumes
This will be an approach that helps them to remember what Farsenol is. No one will ever forget this.
Post which, you can simply run a blackboard-chalk thing to explain synthesis..
