Question
Copper (II) sulfamate, Cu(OSO_2NH_2)_2].xH_2O is a useful catalyst for the Biginelli condensation reaction. A chemist wished to know the degree of hydration of the salt. Cu(OSO_2NH_2)2].xH_2O (33.5 mg) was reacted with an excess of potassium nitrite and aqueous hydrochloric acid. The volume of nitrogen gas evolved was measured using eudiometric apparatus and found to be 5.61 mL. The temperature was 24.3 degree C and the atmospheric pressure was 101.3 kPa. (rho V = nRT, where R = 8.314 J mol^-1 K^-1 or 8.314 kPa L mol^-1 K^-1) Calculate the degree of hydration of Cu(OSO_2NH_2)_2.xH_2O and the error in the measurement using the values given above and those in the table below.Explanation / Answer
I think so there is ambiguity in the question data
So please verify it because. as per the question the value of x which we are getting would be in negative which is not possible
