B)Now you have your expression vectors and your professor has created a GFP reporter vector with the promoter of gene awesome upstream of GFP, so that when transcription is activated GFP is expressed. Now you must design an experiment to test if the proteins captain and spike work independently, additevely, or synergistically to enhance the expression of gene awesome. Show the results and include interpretation to answer question.
Explanation / Answer
The main purpose of an expression vector is to produce the protein of interest. It is just my way of designing an experiment. I feel the experiment can be carried out in 3 stages.
Stage 1:- An expression vector containing gene captain is made to produce protein gene captain. If it gives the fluorescent signal with reporter gene, means it can act independently.
Stage 2:- the same steps can be repeated with gene spike to find out its independent action.
Stage 3:- In a third experiment expression vector containing both gene spike and gene captain is taken. After production of protein, if it gives fluorescent signal, means the two genes act additively.
Under all cases result will be positive in any one stage and not the three stage.
