Question

How many grams of CrSO_4 will be made from 25.0 grams each Zn, K_2Cr_2O_7, and H_2SO_4? 4 Zn + K_2Cr_2O_7 + 7 H_2SO_4 rightarrow ZnSO_4 + 2CrSO_4 + K_2SO_4 + 7 H_2O What is the sum of the coefficients when the following is balanced with the smallest integer coefficients? CaC_2(s) + H_2O(l) rightarrow Ca(OH)_2(s) rightarrow C_2H_2(g) What is the mass in grams of 1 atom of sulfur (atomic mass = 32.066)? How many grams H_2O are there in 10. G of tetraphenylarsonium chloride dehydrate, (C_6H_5)_4 AsCl - 2 H_2O?

Explanation / Answer

10) the molar mass of Al2HPO4)3 has 251.5 g and it has 3 H atoms.

so 12.4 g will have how many H atoms ?

12.4 x 3/251.5

0.147 atoms of hydrogen

12) lets see the equation it says Ca2C2 + H2O >>>> Ca(OH)2 + C2H2

if we balance the equation we get like this

Ca2C2 + 2H2O >>>> Ca(OH)2 + C2H2

1          + 2 >>>>>     1            + 1

13) mass in grams in 1 atom of sulfur.

1 mole of sulfur has 6.02 x 10^23 atoms = 32 g

so 1 atom has how many grams ?

32.066 / 6.02 x 10^23=5.33 x 10^-23 g

14 ) ( C6H5)4 AsCI .2H2O has the mol wt 601.5 g ( please do check my calculation )

so 601.5 g has 36 g of H20

therefore 10 g will have

36 x 10/601.5

= 0.59 g
