Question
pre lab questions:
1- There are two different reactions you determine H values for in this experiment. Write the balanced chemical equation for each. Be sure to include and phase changes. ( the two reactions are HCl with NH3and the dissolving of ammonium chloride salt into water )
2- In this lab, you will not measure the temperature of the reactant molecules directly. Identify the substance for which the temperature will be measured.
3- In this lab, you will measure temperature changes by plotting temperature vs. time data and extrapolating. Would your calculated T be too large or too small if you simply tried to record an initial and a final temperature? Explain.
Explanation / Answer
1)
2) Temprature of water, (medium in which reaction takes place) is measured.
3) If we measure temperature changes by plotting temperature Vs time date, then the calculate value would be too large than that calculated by simply measuring the initial and final temperature.
