Question
So, air is something we all notice when it's bad. Inside air, outside air, point sources, nonpoint sources... We all get exposed to what's around us all the time.
Some years we have bad smoke in Idaho Falls from forest fires and from field burning, it's been wet this year so only a few days have been bad. I certainly notice poor air quality when I drive through Pocatellor and/or Salt Lake City, lucky that air quality here is generally quite good due to little to no manufacturing, no large point sources.
What are your thoughts and experiences?
Explanation / Answer
My thoughts and experiences regarding the same are as those of you. Poor air quality effects healthy life style, food, nutrition and day to day death rate/birth rate.
Salt lake city experiences a large amount of particulate air pollution especially during winters. There are various mountains present on all sides of the Salt lake valley. These mountains do not allow strong winds to pass through the valley. Now, whatever pollution is there, will remain in the valley itself. Sometimes the drainage system and salt lake system running over there, traps foul winds also. This reduces the air quality over there inspite of absence of large point sources.
