Observations Conclusion: 12Explanation / Answer
1) Conclusion: The reaction is :
Zn + HCl —— H2 + ZnCl2
When Zinc reacts with hydrochloric acid, it produces bubbles of Hydrogen Gas.
The reaction is a single replacement reaction. Zn metal displaces hydrogen from HCl and produces H2 gas and a salt ZnCl2.
2) Observation: Bubbles of Carbon dioxide gas produces.
Conclusion: The reaction is :
NaHCO3 + CH3COOH —— CH3COONa + H2O + CO2
This is a very good example of neutralization reaction. Sodium bicarbonate reacts with acetic acid produces sodium acetate, water and carbon dioxide (gas).
