1. All this compounds are purified by column chromatography mixture of benzoic acid+ diphenyl methanol + methoxy benzene were loaded on to column according to polarity they were separated .

benzoic acid is highly polar, diphenyl methanol more polar than the methoxy benzene and methoxy benzene is nonpolar. Elueting column we get first fraction for methoxy benzene becos it is non polar less bind to silica, then obtained fraction for diphenyl methanol it is somewhat polar bind to silica hence separate as second fraction and finally more polar benzoic acid were separated it is strongly bind to silica .

melting point of benzoic acid is= 1220C

boiling point of diphenyl methanol =2980C

boiling point of methoxy benzene=253.80C

by compairing this we found that the pure compound was obtained.
