Explanation / Answer

1. BOYLE'S LAW

Boyle's law is a gas law, stating that the pressure and volume of a gas have an inverse relationship, when temperature is held constant.

2. When the piston moves down, the overall volume inside the cylinder decreases which increases the pressure inside the cylinder ( Boyle's Law). So the gas molecule will be under certain pressure due to the reduction of the volume.

3. In order to decrease the internal pressure, we have to increase the volume, which can be done by inhaling more air.

4. This in turns decreases the pressure in the lungs and creates empty space which forms a vacuum. This reduction in pressure pulls air into the lungs. ... It is the inverse relationship of Pressure and Volume of Boyle's Law that creates the pump - vacuum activity that allows for us to breathe.

5. If you play ping pong, chances are you’ve come across the occasionally dented ball. Restore its roundness by popping it in a pan of water. Warm the water gently while stirring and the air inside the ball will expand as it heats up. The expanding air will push out the dent and restore the ball’s roundness.
