5.) You have 0.125 mole of L(s). a.) How many molecules of l2 is this? b.) How many atoms of I is this? c.) How many grams of l2 do you have? 6.) What is the Molar Mass (MM) of each of the following: a.) FeO 71.8 gmol 7) A compound analyzed to be 47.08% Carbon, 65996 Hydrogen and the rest is Chlorine. The MM is 153g/mol. Write the balanced equation. 3 NaOH +Na sPOy3Hao b.) How much water can be made by reacting 23.989 g of phosphoric acid with xs base? c.) How much sodium hydroxide reacted?

Explanation / Answer

5)

a)

we have below equation to be used:

number of molecules = number of mol * Avogadro’s number

number of molecules = 0.125 * 6.022*10^23 molecules

number of molecules = 7.53*10^22 molecules

Answer: number of I2 = 7.53*10^22 molecules

b)

one molecule of I2 has 2 atoms of I

So,

number of atoms = 2*number of molecules

= 2*7.53*10^22 atoms

= 1.51*10^23 atoms

Answer: 1.51*10^23 atoms

c)

Molar mass of I2 = 253.8 g/mol

we have below equation to be used:

mass of I2,

m = number of mol * molar mass

= 0.125 mol * 253.8 g/mol

= 31.7 g

Answer: 31.7 g
