a) 2 H2S + 3 O2 --> 2 SO2 + 2 H2O

b) 2 H2S + SO2 --> 3 S + 2 H2O

The above two are asked in the given question without physical states, but in the beginning they asked us to write balanced equation to get sulfuric acid so that will be as follows.

2 SO2 + O2 --> 2 SO3   and SO3 + H2O --> H2SO4

(H2SO4 is sulfuric acid & SO3 is sulfur trioxide)

to get fuming sulfuric acid (98% concentrated) SO3 is dissolved in H2SO4 to get oleum as follows

SO3 + H2SO4 --> H2S2O7 (oleum), oleum on hydrolysis with sufficient water gives fuming sulfuric acid.
