autophosphorylation of JAKs is induced only after ligand induced dimerization of receptors
JAKs are phosphorylated by cytokine receptors
JAKs associate with receptor tyrosine kinases

Explanation / Answer
JAKs bind to cytokine receptors only after ligand induced dimerization and autophosphorylation of JAKs is induced only after ligand induced dimerization of receptors.
The ligand bind to the receptor and causes the dimerization of receptor by bringing them together, it brings conformational changes in the receptor and brings the two JAK kinases into close proximity and it induces the activates the JAK kinases to phosphorylate each other. The autophosphorylation of JAK kinase transduces intracellular signals by phosphorylating and activating STAT which translocates to nucleus and starts transcription.
