As we know that the in seawater or lake water lots of solutes are present and hence increases the concentration of sea or lake water whereas there is no solute present in the deionized water and hence it will have lower concentration then respective sea or lake water and that's the reason that TMP in deionized water has lesser half-life than the lake or sea water because of more concentration of the lake or sea water.
