Solubility of j is determoned by the molar attraction constant square coming at the numerator.. Hence the more the attraction between the molecules in a particular phase, the more it can be soluble.. Hence the higher values of solubility parameter like acetone, ethylene glycol, NN dimethyl formamide ensures good and efficient solubility.

The positive value of the interaction parsmeter determines solubility which in turn depends on the square of the difference of the solubility parameter.
