His parents disapprove of this, not only because they are embarrassed that Hal is a cross-dresser, but because they think that the ecstasy and other drugs at the clubs are dangerous. Hal says that he goes clubbing because that’s the only place he feels accepted. He says he certainly does not feel accepted by his family.

1). As an addiction counselor, I have to first make the person to self-participate. By speaking about his regular activities and his interests, one can get closer to the client. It is also important to know the pleasure that he is experiencing with these activities, so that we can explain the drawbacks in a well convincing manner.
2). Yes, Hal is at the risk of addiction to clubs and club environment, which also includes drug addiction.
3). It seems that Hal's sexual orientation is different, and this is commonly observed in some males. It is not because they are gays but it stimulates their pleasure of sexual desire. Hal must have to be examined for his behavior with the club members, it helps to better understand his behavior.
