Find and explain 5 positions about Euthanasia include Pros And Cons depend on this case:

Dilemma #4: Euthanasia

Terri Schiavo suffered brain damage in 1990 and fell into what court-appointed doctors called a persistent vegetative state, with no real consciousness or chance of recovery, after a chemical imbalance caused her heart to stop. After her collapse, Terri Schiavo’s parents and husband worked together and vowed to see her recover.

After attempts to regain her consciousness, her husband argued that she had told him long ago that she would not want to be kept alive artificially. Her parents disputed that and held out hope for a miracle recovery for a daughter they said still laughed with them and struggled to talk.

Thirteen days after her feeding tube was removed, Terri Schiavo, 41, died at her Pinellas Park, Fla. Hospice. Michael Schiavo, the husband who had battled for years to have her feeding tube removed was at her beside when she died. Her parents, brother and sister, who had fought just as hard to have the tube remain in place, were not.

One cannot say that one choice i.e., life or death is more moral than another, but the debate will revolve around this very issue.

Justify why one would allow a person to remain alive when a terminal illness has been diagnosed (keep person on life support)-against euthanasia

b. Justify why one should not allow a person to remain alive under a terminal illness condition (remove life support system)-for euthanasia

Explanation / Answer

Euthanasia - At time we can hope for the recovery of the person, since we are not the deciding authority to decide wheter the concern person should live or not. Hence we can keep a person on life support against euthanasia.

b. A person to remain alive under a terminal illness condition is really difficult for both the parents and himself.

The cost involved in maintaining the patient can be spent on so many other patients who can be recovered due to treatment.

More over there are several kids who are malnourished or undernourished, hence simply spending on a vegetable body does not sound good.

Termination not only gives peace for the person it also gives peace for their relatives who manage to make him alive with lots of difficulty.
