Your task is to present a hypothesis for how leaf water potential and stomatal conductance change over the course of a day for two different plant species. Plant species 1 possesses leaves with relatively high leaf hydraulic conductance whereas plant species 2 possesses leaves with relatively low leaf hydraulic conductance. Present your hypothesis as a graph(s). In addition to the graph(s), provide a written explanation for your hypothesis. Explanation / Answer

The transpiration rate is the measure of hydraulic conductance in a plant. The species A is found to have increased transpiration rate of about nearly 2 in the mid of the day, where as the species 2 has lesser transpiration which is around 1.5 which shows that the species two have relatively lesser hydraulic conductance than the species 1 in the presence of constant light intensity and with varying voltage potential difference trough out the day.
