We Know that :    FeSO3 + 2HNO3 ----------> FeSO4   + N2 + 2O2 + H2O      In the above Reaction Sulphurundergoes oxidation and Nitrogen undergoes Reduction.                             S -->   +4 to + 6                              N ---> +5 to 0
