Explanation / Answer

I'm pretty confident the answer is both A and D Ionization energy is the amount of energy required to move oneelectron so correlates with atomic size. The smaller the atomis the harder it is to remove an electron because it's attractionto the nucleus. Going down a group increases the number ofshielding inner core electrons so the atoms are bigger and it iseasier to remove an electron and moving from left to right along aperiod increases the number of protons in the nucleus but doesn'tincrease the number of shielding electrons so the electrons arebound tighter and harder to remove (thus higher ionizationenergy)
