Question
A couple of ?'s I just can't figure out.... 1. Reaction H2 + I2 <--->2HI, Keq = 017 @500K. Whatconcentration of I2 will be in the equilibrium w/H2=0.040M, HI =0.015M? I tried using the Keq = [C]c[D]d/[A]a[B]b &rearranged but don't even think that's the formula to use.... 2. Balance the following oxidation-reduction equations withsteps: a) P + HNO3+ H2O ---> H3PO4 + NO b) H2SO4 + HI ---> H2S + I2+ H2O c) Sb + HNO3 ---> Sb2O5 + NO + H20 Any help on all or some of these would beappreciated...assignment is now overdue!! H2 +I2 <---> 2HI, Keq = [HI] 2 / { [H2] [ I2]} 0.17 = (0.015)2 / { 0.04 * [I2] } [I2] = 0.033 M 3 P + 5 HNO3 + 2H2O ---> 3 H3PO4 + 5 NO H2SO4 + 8 HI -------> H2S + 4 I2 + 4 H2O 6 Sb + 10 HNO3 ------> 3Sb2O5 + 10 NO + 5 H2ORelated Questions
