A) This is an exothermic reaction. Increasing this temperature willcause the equilibrium to move to the left. This is because LaChatleier's principle says the equilibrium will move to minimizeany changes. We want to use up the heat and produce more NaOH.Therefore it decreases the solubility, because the reaction ismoving more to the left, not to the right, so it doesnt get achance to dissolve. B) This is an endothermic reaction, adding heat will cause theequilibrium to move to the right. (We want to use up that excessheat). Thus, more KNO3 will form its K+ and NO3 - ions. Thus, itssolubility increases.
