Question
if nitrogen has an average rate of diffusion of .126 cm/s atroom temp, what is the diffusion rate of helium at the sametempI just set this one up like (.126/x) = (4.003/28.02)^1/2
= (.126/x) = .3780
= .126 = .3780x
= .333 cm/s is this right??? or should i have stopped at .3780cm/s

Explanation / Answer
According to Graham's Law of diffusion: R1/R2=(M2/M1)1/2 R1/0.126=(28/4)1/2 R1=0.333 cm/s So u r right.........
